MID-OHIO-CON
WRAP-UP!
BIG
THANKS to everyone who came out to Mid-Ohio-Con
this past weekend! This was my first experience exhibiting at the
biggest comic book convention held here in Columbus, and I had a GREAT
time! Russell Merritt of Banshuwa
Studio and Ryan Claytor of Elephant
Eater Comics were fantastic neighbors, in conditions that can only
be described as CROWDED! However, the atmosphere at the show was
energetic and fun. I sold a bunch of comics and artwork, and I was
commissioned to draw quite a few cool sketches: A naughty (of course) Barbarella,
a sexy (of course) Black Cat, the classic Phantom Lady for Ethan (thanks
for sharing that AMAZING Matt Baker-drawn reference material), and Ahsoka
Tano for Matt Zolman,
a hugely talented artist whom I finally got to meet in person!
I truly
appreciate the support of everyone who put down their hard-earned money
for my comics and artwork.
Mid-Ohio-Con
was my last show of the year, and I was happy to run into friends and colleagues
that I've gotten to know this convention season, like illustrator and sketchcard
artist Alex Buechel, Kashyyyk-native
Dean
Stahl, the infectiously enthusiastic Michael
Watson and his writing partner Victor Dandridge of Freestyle
Komics, Lackluster World
creator Eric Adams, Shawn Pryor of PKD
Media, colorist and fellow Steelers fan Marc
Lewis, Terry Huddleston
of Big Bang Comics, Nik
Havert of Pickle Press,
IDW
big shot Dara Naraghi, and
the Sunday Comix
crew, including Max Ink
and Ray Tomczak.
See
you all in 2010!
